Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, and his challenger, Doctor Asue Ighodalo, will on Thursday know their fate as the Supreme Court is set to deliver final judgment in the legal battle on the gubernatorial election dispute.

The decision of the Apex court when handed down would put an end to the chains of court cases that followed the legality or otherwise of the election.

Sources at the Supreme Court confirmed on Wednesday that the judgment of the Five-man panel of Justices who heard the case would be made public on Thursday.

Governor Okpebholo and the All Progressives Congress were declared winners of the election by INEC, last year.

The elelection result was contested by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Asue Ighodalo. Thursday’s judgement will bring to an end month long legal battle to confirm the authentic winner of the 21 September 2024 governorship election.

In a previous judgement, Governor Okpebholo urged Mr Ighodalo to stop the court battle and join hands with him to build Edo State.
