The Edo State Enforement Team on COVID-19 in Ovia South-West Local Government has sealed off no fewer than 13 churches in the state.
The incident happened on Sunday over refusal to obey the government’s directive on social distancing.
The Vice-Chairman of the Council Mr Fred Aimienwanwu led the task force that enforced the state government measures on Coronavirus.

According to NAN’s report, the enforcement team was mandated by the council boss, Mr Destiny Enabulele to seal off churches defying government’s directive.
Aimienwanwu said the enforcement was possible as a result of a tip-off by residents.
“These observers reported that some churches directed their members to attend service in spite of the lockdown order by the federal, state and local governments,” he said.
The Vice-Chairman warned business owners and worship centres to Obey the order given by President Muhammadu Buhari and the governor, Godwin Obaseki, adding that “There will be no hidden place for defaulters.
