Edo State Police Command says it has rescued all kidnapped victims of the University of Benin who were returning from a field trip in Igarra, Edo North.

Three lecturers of the University, and 12 students of the Department of Geology, were adopted by suspected herdsmen as they were returning from a field trip yesterday.

The event occurred at about 5 pm as they were rounding up activities of the field trip at a hill in Igarra, Edo North Nigeria.

However, the school management through the vice-chancellor swiftly made some calls to the Inspector General of Police concerning the matter and the location of the criminals were mapped out.

Police then swung into action and arrested some of the kidnappers and released both the students and lecturers from their abductors

Speaking on a telephone conversation this morning with our Correspondent, The State Police Image maker, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor Confirmed the incident.

He Revealed that they have all been freed and safe he further stated that Two Suspected persons have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping Operations.

On the part of the school authority, the Spokesperson for the institution, Daisy Ehanire Confirmed the stands of the Police Authority, Saying” They have all been found and safe, we thank God”.
