Edo Police are aggressively going after kidnappers in Edo State after over 32 commuters were abducted at Igueben Train Station.
On Thursday, 12, 2023, Edo police stormed Scorpion Hills in the Egbisi forest, Edo State, to pursue kidnappers.
The Standard Gazette gathered that two suspected kidnappers were shot and killed while some victims were rescued.
Two of the alleged kidnappers engaged the police in a gun battle, a police source said, but they were neutralized, and the armed policemen recovered forty-nine rounds of AK47 live ammunition.
TSG reported on January 9 that a group of hoodlums ambushed motorists and abducted the President of the Igueben Area Customary Court, Mrs Precious Aigbonga, on the Benin Ugoneki, Euaholor Road, in Edo State.

The police have collaborated with their military colleagues and the Edo State security network known as the vigilantes and hunters to rescue kidnapped victims.
During the rescue of Mrs Aigbonga, The Standard Gazette reported that DSP Michael Adams attached to the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit, was killed.
The police said they rescued two male Igueben Train Station employees who were abducted on the January 7 attack and reunited with their families.
Edo state commissioner of police, Mohammed Dankwara, while expressing regret on the loss of DSP Michael Adams, extends his heartfelt condolence to the deceased officer’s family.
