Edo police strategize aheads of Eid-El-Kabir

Ahead of the 2023 Eid-El-Kabir celebration on June 28th, 29th, and 30th, the Edo State Police Commissioner, CP Mohammad Dankwara, has instructed for ample security measures to be put in place in Edo State.

The Edo State police command has been instructed to increase security at Mosques, Salah praying grounds, and recreational centres throughout the state in order to ensure a safe and smooth Sallah celebration.

On Monday, the Commissioner held a security meeting with the police teams in Edo State to strategize.

CP Dankwara gave a marching order to the police team to raid any identified criminals’ hideouts and “smoke them out.”

The purpose of the move is to safeguard the lives and property of the residents of Edo State.

He promised the community a peaceful and trouble-free celebration, both leading up to and following the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.

The police department is issuing a warning to those involved in criminal activities during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations. They are urging them to stop their criminal behaviour or leave the state. Anyone caught engaging in criminal activities will face strict punishment.
