On Tuesday, a confrontation occurred between police officers from Dumez Road in Benin City and a pharmacist along Erediauwa Road.

The police officers accused the pharmacist of selling illegal drugs.

An eyewitness reported that the officers had arrested a young boy with 100 mils of Tramadol along Four Erediauwa Road, and the boy had confessed that he had bought the drugs from the pharmacist, Mr Chris.

However, Mr Chris denied knowing the boy or selling him any drugs, which led to an argument between him and the police officers.

The police officers demanded to search Mr Chris’s shop, but he opposed it and asked for a warrant.

The disagreement escalated, and a physical altercation ensued.

The eyewitness also reported that the officers seized a phone belonging to Mr Chris’s wife before leaving the scene.
