The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has assured that his administration would expedite action on the constitution of a Hajj Committee and Muslim Welfare Board to prepare ground for intending Muslims to travel for Hajj.
He disclosed this on Wednesday in Benin as he broke Ramadan fast with Islamic scholars at the Government House, saying, “This is a night of fellowship with our Muslim brothers, as we join them in prayers during this period. We are happy to receive you and we will continue to join you in prayers.”
The Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdulfatai Enabulele, commended the governor for the food items he distributed to the Muslim brothers and sisters for fasting and appealed to him to approve a space in the Government House where Muslims could offer their daily prayers.
