Edo State Police Command has exhumed the body of a twenty-one-year-old girl, Osaro Festus, who was allegedly killed by his boyfriend at Iyanomo Community along Sapele Road in Benin City.
According to the report, the suspect Joshua Osaigbovo, 30, led policemen to the scene of the crime.
However, it was a dark day for the bereaved family as the father of the deceased, Pa Festus Uyiekpen Edogiawerie and Family members wept following the exhumation of the body of the 21-year-old daughter, Osaro Festus, killed and buried in a shallow grave by her boyfriend Joshua Osaigbovo.
The quiet Community became a shadow of itself when residents discovered the havoc carried out by one of their tenants.
The police public relations Officer, Edo State Command, CSP Joel Yamu, said the Suspect, after killing the girl, unlocked her two phones to start demanding ransom from her family members, which they paid.
Father of the deceased, Pa. Festus Uyiekpen Edogiawerie, said his daughter left home on the 20th of April 2025 to an unknown destination, and since then they have been searching for her all to no avail, not knowing that she has been killed by her supposed boyfriend.
The deceased girl, Osaro Festus, is said to have been a fashion designer before she met her death via an alleged hookup in the local parlance.
The remains of the girl have since been deposited at the mortuary.
