In Edo State’s Esan South East local government area, a team of Nigerian Police and Edo Vigilante collaborated to rescue individuals who were kidnapped in Emu.
Based on the gathered information, the team thoroughly searched the forest for three missing individuals: Mr Sunday Okoye, aged 32 and from Ogwachukwu in Delta State, Eze Ifeanyi Chukwu, aged 50 and from Isele Azagba in Delta State, and Michael Ilugbunan, aged 49 and originally from Atonba Camp.
The victims were abducted in their vehicle along the Okhuessan-Emu road before they were forced into the bush.

The kidnappers then contacted their families to demand N10m ransom.
It was gathered that the victims, including the bus driver, the conductor and a passenger – a farmer in Emu Village, were abducted at gunpoint.
The team rammed into the alleged kidnappers during the intensive bush combing, resulting in gunfire.
The police said the kidnappers took to their heels and abandoned their victims.
The rescued victims have been profiled by the police while a strong search has been intensified to ensure the arrest of fleeing kidnappers.
