On Thursday afternoon, at least eight people died after a crane crumbled at a construction site in Hurlingham, Nairobi.
The construction project was being undertaken by a Chinese contractor being opposite the Department of Defence Headquarters.
Several people are feared to have sustained injuries as the rescue mission is ongoing.
A few that have been rescued were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Security officers have been deployed at the scene to maintain peace and order.
Transportation along Argwings Kodhek road next to the scene has been paralyzed as vehicles have been forced to use other routes to ferry passengers to their destination.
At the time of this publication, the rescue mission was still on.
