Some youth who were relaxing in a beer parlour including an Immigration officer were arrested by the police in Benin unjustly.
Our Benin Correspondent, Marxist Kola Edokpayi who is also a prominent Human Rights Activist widely known for rendering service to humanity intervened immediately and after discussion with the Police Boss, they were granted bail free.
According to our reporter “While I was relaxing somewhere with my Comrades thinking that there will be no intervention today, I received a call from one of our members who briefed me that some police officers invaded a beer parlour at the popular Igun in a commando like style and arrested eight persons who were in the beer parlour including an immigration officer who came to repair his car.
We abandoned what we were doing, evaporated and condensed at State CID to ascertained why they were arrested with a view to releasing them if they have good case.
After fruitful discussion, the Officer in Charge of the unit ordered for their release without much ado.
