Nigerian music maestro, Naira Marley has put off his earlier schedule protest against police brutality in the country.
The singer has been a loud voice against the incessant brutality of Nigerians by the Special Anti Robbery Squad operatives, SARS.
Naira Marley who made this u-turn via his official tweeter handle, saying that he cancelled the planned protest because ‘a lot of changes are being made right now .’

He noted that as a Malian, he would give the Nigerian police force more time to implement their changes.
“We won’t be protesting anymore because there ’s a lot of changes being made right now. As a Marlian we will give them a week to see the changes and if there ’s no changes we will start a mass protest . # togetherwecan,” he tweeted.
It was however gathered that the Nigerian police have initiated a forum to have a discussion with Naira Marley.
In a post via its Twitter account, the police announce that the spokesperson of the Force , DCP Frank Mba , would have an Instagram Live interview with the Naira Marley to answer questions and discuss the concerns of young Nigerians on the issues of SARS operations.
“Today , Tuesday 6 th October, 2020, by 11 am , the Force PRO – DCP Frank Mba will be having a live Instagram chat with Naira Marley to answer questions and discuss the concerns of young Nigerians on the issues of SARS operations and other burning issues . Please stay tuned , ” the police tweeted.
The activities of SARS operatives have come under renewed scrutiny following several cases of abuse, extortion and Killings of innocent Nigerians.
