Police officers in Edo State who still believe in cutting corners in their mandatory Responsibilities to the public must now look elsewhere for such Conduct.
The decision is connected with the arrest recently carried out, by the Command on some officers and men of the State Intelligence Bureau who allegedly involved in unprofessional conduct during an operation exercise in Benin City.

In a statement dated,16/05/2020 with Ref:AZ:5250/EDS/PRD/VOL.24/9, and issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor reaffirmed the Stand of the Command to stamp out bad elements from the police Operatives.
DSP Nwabuzor informed that the Officers and Men of the police Operatives(names withheld) involved in the unruly incident, have been arrested and detained in its custody while they are currently undergoing investigation.
According to the Police Image Maker, “Edo State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the arrest of some Officers and Men of State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of the Command while carrying out an arrest in Benin City in an unprofessional manner”.
The Commissioner of Police Edo State, CP Lawan Tanko Jimeta speaking on the incident in his office at the State Headquarters reiterated his constitutional mandate in protecting the rights and privileges of the law-abiding citizens of Edo State against Human Rights abuse by some members of the Nigerian Police.
He, however, appeals to the general public to always co-operate with the Police and see themselves as partners in progress in the business of securing Edo State
It would be recalled that the Civil Society Groups and Spirited individuals had in the past, drew the attention of the Police authority over the Conduct of some of its Officers who persistently trampled on the rights of Citizens with minimal concerns given.
