Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reacted to insinuations regarding his government’s determination to get rid of yellow buses in Lagos.
While featuring on a Channels Television programme on Sunday, Sanwo-Olu said “it will be unfair” to scrap ‘danfos’, adding that they have served Lagos residents for a long time.
Recall that earlier in February, the state commissioner for transportation, Frederick Oladeinde, had said the yellow buses is no longer in the transportation master plan for Lagos State.

According to the governor, Lagos cannot afford to stick to one mode of transportation, noting that his administration is working towards exploring other options especially its waterways as one-third of the state is water. Hence, the state cannot rely solely on yellow buses to provide for the transportation need of residents.
However, Sanwo-Olu reassured owners of yellow buses ‘Danfo’ as it is popularly called that his administration, stating, “it will be unfair for us. These are important stakeholders. They served our citizens. They served Lagosians for a long time. It became the print of Lagos, the yellow buses,” he maintained.
