Five persons have been confirmed injured after a clash ensued Thursday between Berom and Fulani youths at a local mining site in Rafin Acha village, Riyom local government area of Plateau state.
Daily Trust gathered that the incident occurred a day after two herders veered their cattle into a farm belonging to Berom farmers.

The two cattle herders were arrested by personnel of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) and handed over to the police for prosecution.
However, supposedly unsatisfied with their arrest, OPSH Media and Information Officer, Captain Adam Umar told Daily Trust that some Berom youths had beaten up Fulani youths and news of the assault had on Thursday reached Rafin Acha where the two groups have been mining together for years.
Captain Umar said emotions ran high at the mining site which resulted into a scuffle.
He confirmed that four Berom youths and one Fulani had been injured in the clash but added that, “if not for our timely intervention, it would have been a serious clash but the OPSH sector 9 commander has convened a stakeholders meeting with the youths and their leaders and both groups have been warned to desist from taking laws into their hands.”
