Supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State, are at each other’s throats over the ongoing recruitment process for the National Forest Guard Scheme.
Allegations and counter-allegations rent the air as to how slots originally given to the local government were shared among party faithfuls and some loyalists, leaving the larger majority out of the scheme.
One of the protesters, Siaka Ottete, wrote on his Facebook that he is dissatisfied with the whole process and called on the attention of the members of the National Assembly representing them to quickly intervene before it degenerates into anarchy.
“I personally call on the electives office holder, both local up to the red chamber within Dekina local government, to remind them of ongoing forest guard recruitments, that nobody has a monopoly on compiling names from their own family alone.
“It’s important for all the Ward to benefit from the federal government. If by any mistake you write ur brothers name alone, we will mobilize a protest on it. Let the right thing be done at the right time, we are all APC member, ” he said.
The youth leader equally accused the APC chieftains in the area of favouring their family instead of throwing it open.
