Germany To Strengthen Its Health Partnership With Kenya

Kenya’s Health Cabinet Secretary, Dr Nakhumicha S. Wafula, on Tuesday morning held a tripartite meeting with the Germany ambassador to Kenya, Sebastian Groth and the representative, UNICEF Kenya country office Ms Shaheen Nilofer.

The CS lauded the government of Germany and UNICEF for their continued support and partnership in improving healthcare services for Kenyans.

As Kenya battles the worst drought in 40 years that has affected more than 23 counties and left more than 600,000 children fighting severe malnutrition and the increased cases of cholera outbreak, UNICEF has pledged to offer humanitarian support in aid of the affected Kenyans.

Cabinet Secretary for the East African community, ASALs and Regional Development Rebecca Miano, who was present, thanked the Germany government and UNICEF, stating that most of the affected Kenyans reside in the ASALs counties.

Principal secretary of the state department for health standards and professional Standards, Josphine Mburu, was also present.
