Govt Suspends Kano Testing Centre For COVID-19 Over Lack Of Testing Kits

Nigeria Centre For Disease Control has suspended the newly established testing centre for COVID-19.

This was disclosed on Channels Television on Wednesday by the Director of the Centre for Infectious Diseases Research, Amino Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) Isah Abubakar.

Abubakar said the centre has run out test kits.

The Director said the centre will remain close pending when new test kits are received from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The government plans to fumigate the laboratory as part of routine bio-safety measures while it remains closed.

NCDC announced AKTH testing centre for COVID-19 a few weeks ago to treat patients suspected of the virus’ symptoms.
