Unknown gunmen abducted 38 persons in Wurma town, Kurfi Local government area of Katsina State on Monday morning.
TheCable reports that the incident happened around 11.50hrs.

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari hails from the troubled State where the people were abducted.
A resident, Badamasi was quoted as saying that that two of his children were among those abducted.
The heartbroken father said the residents called security operatives, but the gunmen operated for hours without interruption.
“Hundreds of armed bandits invaded our community that morning. Even before their arrival, we sensed something and immediately started calling the police,” Badamasi said.
“But we were surprised that the bandits spent hours, looted and kidnapped our people. I am a victim. Two of my children were abducted.”
Also distressed by the incident was the village head, Mustapha Muhammad who also wept because two of his children were among the abducted by gunmen.
He said the gunmen also searched his rooms in search of valuables.
“At first, 49 people were kidnapped but 11 had returned to the village. Among those kidnapped are also wife and son of the vice chairman of the local government.”
He, however, said the attackers did not kill anyone.
TheCable also reports that the police spokesman, Gambo Isa feign ignorance of the incident when contacted.
“I will contact the DPO in the area, and get back to you.”
The President’s own state is among the many states currently battling with a high rate of insecurity in the country.
In July 2019, about 22 persons were reportedly slaughtered, scores of children were also abducted when gunmen attacked Zangon-Kankara and Makera in Kankara local government area of the state.
