Gunmen Robs POS Operator N500k In Benin

A POS operator simply identified as Kelvin has been robbed by unidentified gunmen in Benin City, Edo State.

Kevin met his assailants on his way back from the bank where he made a withdrawal for customers payment.

According to the victim who spoke with NAIJA CENTER correspondent in Benin, the incident happened on Tuesday at about 2 pm at Solaza Plaza, along Erediauwa road, Off Sapele road in Benin.


Kevin said he stood with other co-tenant outside a complex when a Camry packed across and two out of four men approached him on the pretence to make POS withdrawal of N50,000.

As the machine was upstairs, he told them to come with him but was asked to hand over his ATM as a flashed their guns.

Kevin said the robbers part with N500,000, the money he said belonged to customers.

"They asked me to cooperate or else they will kill me," Kelvin told NAIJA CENTER.

He added that "even their vehicle could not start early but fear of the gun which was declared openly, no one was bold enough to go after them. When I started shouting thief!, the Keke man I pleaded with to help me trail them refused.

The robbers are suspected to also be the same gang who robbed another P.O.S operator a few weeks ago at Evboriaria quarter as victims described the same vehicle.
