
Joseph Egbunike, the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCI) Deputy inspector general and head, has died.
In the late hours of Tuesday, March 8, Egbunike fainted inside his Abuja office.
Egbunike was the head of the Nigeria Police Force’s highest investigative unit until his death. Abba Kyari, the suspended police chief, was investigated by the late Egbunike. However, there was no indictment as a result of this probe.
Egbunike, who is from Onitsha in Anambra state, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Nsukka. He also had a bachelor’s degree in law, a master’s degree in international relations, and a doctorate in criminal justice.
