‘How We Joined ESN And Get Funds To Kill’ – Surviving Suspect Confesses

The only surviving member of the dreaded Eastern Security Network, ESN, that attacked Owerri on Sunday, Stanley Osinachi, is aiding security personnel on the activities of terrorists wreaking havoc on Police formations and government agencies in the South East.

Stanley, who hails from Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state, said that their funding comes from financiers abroad and that their charms were prepared by Aguleri native doctors in Anambra State.

He made the confession at the Imo police command in Owerri, where he (Osinachi) was paraded alongside the lifeless bodies of his gang members who were killed in exchange of gun fire with the special forces.

It was gathered that in the process of exchange of gun battle their ring leader, popularly known as “Dragon” said to be an ex-soldier was gunned down alongside others.

Speaking with newsmen on how he joined the ESN, the suspect and he said: “Dragon recruited me by calling me on phone to join the Eastern Security Network, ESN, I was recruited for the past three days. Even when I wanted to leave he said he will kill me. Our camp is at Akabo in Ikeduru local government area, that is where we normally operate from and plan for our operation and Dragon told us that part of our plan is to be killing and burning police stations.”

On how they get their guns for operation, he said: “Dragon tell us to kill police people and collect their guns for us to use it for operation. We even kidnapped a police woman officer, and kept her in our custody so that she will be given us information.”

Terrorists under the press name of unknown gunmen have laid seige on Imo and other parts of the South East and South South, killing police officers, soldiers, destroying INEC offices and heating up the polity.
