The attorney-general of the Federation (AGF) has denied involvement in the dethronement and detention of Muhammadu Sanusi.

The Emir of Kano was confined in Awe in Nasarawa state after commando-style removal from the throne.

A federal high court in Abuja ordered his release which led to his relocation to Lagos on Friday.

An aide to the dethroned Emir had fingered Malami in the detention of the monarch.

A special assistant on media and public relations to Malami, Umar Gwandu said on Sunday that there was no need for comment as the case was already in court.

“The issue of who does what over the dethronement saga has been effectively submitted for judicial determination. The matter is consequently subjudice,” he said.

”And I will not comment one way or the other over a matter that is pending before the court.”

Sanusi had also teased the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, saying his vacation letter was poorly written.

He said the letter gave her loopholes to contest it in court but said he would rather move on.
