ICPC Arrests Bank Manager for Loading Wrapped Naira Notes into ATM Machine
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has announced the arrest of a bank manager in Osogbo, Osun State.
The manager was taken into custody for loading the bank’s automated teller machines with wrapped new Naira notes, making it impossible for the machines to dispense them.

According to a statement from the agency, the ICPC Compliance Team in Oshogbo discovered the issue during a visit to the FCMB branch in Osogbo.
The team directed that the wrapped new Naira notes be properly loaded for dispensing. However, during a follow-up visit the next day, the team found that one of the ATMs was still loaded with unremoved wrappers. As a result, the Operation Manager of the bank was arrested and taken in for questioning.
This information was shared on the agency’s Twitter handle on Friday. Banks have been in the ICPC’s searchlight since the introduction of the new Naira Notes as Racketeers make huge gains by selling through the help of bank officials.
