In this interview with Ehi Ekhator, the former Executive Director ( Social Media & Diaspora Affairs) in the last Edo State government and now the Personal Assistant/Media Aide to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Mr. Victor Oshioke told NAIJA CENTER NEWS about the rift between a member of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Blessing Agbomhere and his party leaders, particularly the former governor, Adams Oshiomhole, the SSG of the current administration, Osarodion Ogie, the Deputy governor, Mr. Philip Shauibu and himself.
Blessing Agbomhere was once a big fan of the former governor, what changed?

Blessing Agbomhere is a known scammer, a blackmailer without a verifiable means of livelihood. What he is doing at the moment is a well thought out scheme to popularize himself by dropping the names of respected public officials from his state. He did it to Chief Mike Oghiadomhe sometime ago and he is doing same to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu.
He creates an impression that respected public officials like the Deputy Governor and the SSG of Edo state see him as a threat politically, but the truth is that Mr. Agbomhere is not in any way mentioned in the political calculations of Edo state or Etsako Central LGA , and not even in his Ward 1. There are 10 Wards in his Etsako Central LGA and apart from Fugar his hometown, Blessing has never campaigned in any other Ward. He does not attend political meetings in his locality, so he is totally unknown amongst his people, that is why the suspended him from Ward and LGA chapters of the party immediately they noticed his acts of indiscipline.
How can such a person see himself as a force to be reckoned with? He is delusional and it is becoming obvious with each statement he makes, that the young man needs urgent psychiatric evaluation to determine his mental state. This is because any normal person who cares about his reputation will not employ the tactics Blessing is so carelessly toying with. He uses different aliases to write press releases and he just accuses people without any shred of evidence to back up his allegations.
Just look at the names of people he claims have threatened him including myself and a responsible young man living far away in the United States of America. I’ve not seen Mr. Agbomhere for over 18 months, yet he claims I threatened him. Ask him to show evidence of my threats and he will have nothing to show you. My only communication with Mr Agbomhere worthy of mention here is that I advised him to go back to Auchi Polytechnic where he was once registered as a student to complete his courses and acquire the OND certificate which he enrolled for but abandoned midway.
It was an advice I gave him freely out of genuine concerns for his future, but in his usual manner of falsely accusing anyone that comes to his mind, he has added my name to those he uses to elevate his personality. But my concern is that this attitude is not just callous but criminal and even injurious to the character of the persons he so recklessly accuse. Somehow, it is time that law enforcement agencies take him in for falsely accusing the immediate past governor of Edo state and the present deputy governor of Edo State of threatening him. If he cannot show evidence of where , when and how such threats were made, then he should be charged to court for defamation and assassination of character.
He cannot be allowed to just wake up and falsely accuse His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Philip Shiabu, the deputy governor of our state without consequence. It is insane for Blessing Agbomhere to imagine that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the deputy governor and the Secretary to Edo State government will sit down and begin to talk about him. Who does Blessing Agbomhere think he is? Honestly I believe it is time his family take him somewhere for treatment.
When Comrade Adams Oshiomhole left office on November 12, 2016 many of his admirers accompanied him on his journey to his country home at Iyamoh. We were amazed when we got to the Comrades house and the sky was lit with fireworks.
Our surprise came from the fact that there was neither plan for, nor money budgeted for such an elaborate fireworks show by the Comrades homecoming committee which organized the events for that day. However, our surprise was short lived as Mr. Blessing Agbomhere boastfully announced to anyone who cared to listen that he is the sole sponsor of the fireworks display in honor of our hero Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. He spoke to me personally, eulogizing Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and how he is willing to spend any amount of money to celebrate him. I thought his intentions were genuine.
However, his real intentions became obvious to everyone when he started lobbying to be given the ticket to vie for the seat vacated by the incumbent deputy governor in the Federal House of Representatives. He did everything possible, employed all known tricks and deployed all blackmail tactics but failed to get win the ticket. This is the basis for his animosity towards Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Rt. Hon. Philip Shiabu. In his warped rationalization, but for these two personalities, he had a chance to secure the ticket using money to induce the delegates end up as a federal parliamentarian.
This is the foundation of his pains and frustration. This is why he is restless deploying all his resources and energy to drop their names in whichever way he can. However, he has forgotten that in politics, patience and respect for leaders are virtues without which you cannot go anywhere. By his utterances and false accusations against the leaders of our party, Blessing has shown the entire world that apart from his doubtful educational qualification, he lacks the respect and maturity required to aspire to public office.
Talking about the airport attack, why do you think, among other people on the flight, he accused the deputy governor of orchestrating the attack?
How can the Deputy Governor who was on the same flight with him organize people to beat him up? I am not saying that he was not beaten up, but the very fact that the deputy governor was on the same flight with him from Abuja to Benin is enough evidence to exclude the deputy governor on collusion in the beating of Mr Blessing Agbomhere because to plan an attack, you have to mobilize people from different parts of Benin City which requires time and the deputy governor couldn’t have done in a flight which lasts a little over 30 minutes and with his phones off. Also remember that as a VIP the deputy governor is likely to have come to the airport a few minutes before the aircraft departs, so to a rational mind, the deputy governor even if he wanted to, simply had no time to plan such an attack on Blessing Agbomhere. But we all know that he is never rational in his utterances and false accusations.
The last time, he claimed the governor had taken over the leadership of the APC. He also claimed that the former governor was blackmailing the incumbent to do whatever he wants.. How true was this?
The issue of party leadership can better be answered by the party spokesperson, but I can only venture to say that the incumbent governor did say at the onset of his administration that he will be more involved in the governance of the state than in the politics of the state. Also, the state caucus of the party met, with the governor in attendance, and adopted Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the state leader of the party, without any objection. Of course Mr. Agbomhere was not present because he is a nobody in the party. So what authority does he have to question the decision of the state caucus of the party. On the issue of the former governor blackmailing governor Godwin Obaseki, I will only ask you to honestly answer that question yourself. Assess what Governor Godwin Obaseki has done since he assumed office, does he seem like a governor being blackmailed to do what he does not intend to do? I believe that your honest answer to this claim by Blessing Agbomhere will ultimately convince you that the guy urgently needs the services of a psychiatric professional.
In all honesty, you are saying Mr. Agbomhere has never been wronged by his party? and he has no reason to complain?
In all honesty, Mr. Agbomhere has not been wronged by APC at any level of the party. On the contrary he is the one that has wronged the party bynhis restlessness, unjustified attacks on party leaders, false accusations against Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Rt. Hon Phillip Shaibu and Barr. Osarodion Ogie, three leaders who have struggled and given their very best to bring APC to it’s enviable heights in the politics of not only Edo state, but Nigeria at large.
As one of the candidates of the governorship election in 2016, Agbomhere sworn to probe Oshiomhole if given the ticket. Don’t you think his problem started from there?
Certainly not, Oshiomhole was never afraid of probe and he’s not afraid of probe any day. Blessing Agbomhere had a right to say he will probe predecessor if nominated, but obviously that did not resonate with the delegates, so they did not vote for him and I believe the case closed at that level. Mr. Agbomhere was never victimized afterwards. He was not suspended after promising to probe Comrade Adams Oshiomhole if given the ticket. That is why he could still contest for the primary election for the House of Representatives ticket.
His problems started when after the primary, he took the party to court without regards to the party constitution which stipulates that you must exhaust the internal mechanism for the resolution of crisis within the party before resorting to external adjudication. The irony of this whole scenario is that Blessing Agbomhere’s problem is restricted at this point in time to his Ward and Local Government level of the party. The entire party ward chairmen in his LGA signed his suspension letter. And this is a man who claims that state party leaders are afraid of his rising political profile, how ludicrous? A politician with a solid profile is one whose ward stands with even when he is despised by the LGA, State and national hierarchy of the party. But here is a man whose only profile is on Facebook where he attacks the very foundation of the party upon whose shoulder he aspires for office. His immaturity is simply embarrassing and unworthy of my attention after now.
On a final note I want to say that in truth nobody I know of, not Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu and not Barr. Osadolor Ogie is interested in harming Mr. Blessing Agbomhere. He will exhaust himself in due course and keep quite because soon his antics will become obvious to everyone. When that time comes, nobody will give him media space and he will know that you can scam some people sometimes, but you cannot scam all the people all the time.
