Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has withdrawn from the trial of eight Boko Haram members standing trials
The withdrawal followed an application by Abu Musab Al-Barnawi and seven others asking their case to be transferred from his court due to perceived alleged bias.
The judge announced his withdrawal from the trial on Tuesday at the court in the Federal Capital Territory.
Al-Barnawi was the spokesperson for the Boko Haram and the remaining seven are facing trials for the alleged kidnapping and murder of five foreigners who were abducted from a construction site in Kebbi State in 2011.
The same suspects were said to also have knowledge in the murder of seven other foreigners in Borno State.
The foreigners were abducted from another construction site in Bauchi in February 2013, and taken to Sambisa forest
