Kenyan police on Monday arrested a woman alleged to have forged academic certificates to acquire government jobs.
Lillian Akoth Ochieng’ was nabbed by the officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in Kisumu, Kenya’s lake city.
The former Assistant Supply Chain Management officer at the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) is accused of forging her Diploma in Management Purchasing and Supplies and also her certificate in Purchasing and Supplies Management.
She will be arraigned in Kisumu court today and charged with forgery, uttering false documents, providing false information, and fraudulent acquisition of public property.
Kenya’s Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) launched criminal investigations against Ms Lillian in 2018 after receiving recommendations from the EACC.
