A woman was on Friday morning found dead in her house in Tala, Eastern Kenya.
Mueni’s body was discovered by her boyfriend, said the police.
Police said the boyfriend had stopped by her lover’s house at midnight and knocked on the door, but there was no reply. He went to his house, and when he returned in the morning, there was still no response.
“On peeping through the window, the boyfriend said he saw her lying on the floor. He called neighbours who broke the window and got a child to open the door only to realise the woman was dead,” said the area police boss Monica Kimani.
The deceased’s friends were left in utter shock following the death of the khat vendor and have appeal to the police to launch an investigation into the matter.
Her body was taken to a local morgue awaiting post-mortem.
