Kenya’s Alleged Fake Lawyer Brian Mwenda Released on Cash Bail

A Nairobi court on Tuesday released alleged fake lawyer Brian Mwenda on a Ksh200,000 (USD$1331).

Milimani Law Court Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina issued the verdict, saying the prosecution failed to show the court why Mwenda should not be given bail.

Last week, The suspect was charged with six counts, including practising a certificate, producing a fraudulent document and uttering a false one.

He was nabbed on October 18 after the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) unmasked him as a fake lawyer.

The court announced that the case will be mentioned on November 7.
