Kenya's COVID-19 Cases Nearing 170,000
Kenya has recorded 341 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 169,697.
Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mutahi Kagwe said that the new cases were from 3,646 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The country's cumulative tests stand at 1,796,585 as of Thursday, May 27, and 963,241 have been vaccinated.
The CS announced that 1,067 patients are currently admitted in various hospitals across the country and another 4680 on the home-based care programme.
One hundred four patients are in ICU, 20 of whom are on ventilator support. Moreover, 89 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, out of which 82 are in general wards and seven in the HDU.
Meanwhile, 144 patients have recovered from the disease, raising the number the total number of recoveries to 115,988.
Unfortunately, eleven more patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours increase the death toll to 3108.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
