Soldiers assigned to supervise election processes in Kogi State have intercepted about three ‘strange’ security vehicles.

The interception of the black-coloured security vehicles took place in the Okene area of the state. It was said that the soldiers had mounted a barricade at Itakpe Junction before the Okene main town.

Similarly, Government officials who attempted to snatch ballot boxes were arrested in several locations in the state.

The ballot box snatchers were gunned down by the security in Ayangba in the Dekina local government area and Abache in the Ankpa local government area, respectively, while attempting to disenfranchise voters there—polling units.

The election was generally peaceful as it emerged that the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP governorship candidate, may win the election if he can sustain the voting margin.

Women and Youths were the strong supporters of SDP in the state that has been ruled by the All Progressive Congress, APC in the past eight years.

The protest broke out in Ogori- mango, where the electoral officers disappeared with the electoral materials and the result sheet.
