Lady offers her wedding ring for sale online, cancels wedding
The engagement ring, valued at N10.2 million, has been listed for sale by a woman who canceled her wedding. She then proceeded to advertise the pricey Tifanny piece on Facebook after it became apparent that the wedding would not go ahead.
The 1.0-carat diamond ring was offered for $18,500, which is less than its initial value of nearly N8 million.
She, however, did not state the reason for the wedding cancelation.
However, the Australian woman has worn the ring for a while, which may be why it is less expensive.
The woman explained why she was letting go of the lovely piece when she shared the Facebook sale advertisement.
She wrote: "Selling this for obvious reasons. I do, now I don't. "Compared to current Tiffany pricing of a 1.0 Carat ring at $23,600, I am letting go of this beauty at $18,500. Condition is close to brand new - never worn much. "Sorry, no receipt as I didn't buy it obviously. Bank transfers only."
The action immediately elicited reactions on social media, the commonest which is, should she have sold it? While others said it was a gift, and she could decide what to do about it, others opined it could just have been returned.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
