Leader of Ogboni Fraternity in Lagos Declared Wanted
The Lagos State Police Command has declared the leader of the Ogboni fraternity, Tajudeen Bakare, wanted after threatening public peace and possessing firearms in Surulere.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police, acting on actionable intelligence, carried out a sting operation on Bakare’s residence, where they discovered three pump-action rifles, a Beretta pistol magazine, and ammunition.

Bakare narrowly escaped arrest and is now declared wanted. Anyone with information that could lead to his arrest will be appreciated and treated confidentially.
A picture frame of Bakare was also recovered from his residence, describing him as a monarch of the Ogboni fraternity.
It is noteworthy that Bakare was among 49 suspects arrested during the Yoruba Nation rally in 2021, where he was paraded and claimed he was on his way to a destination in the state, not among the protesters.
