Lokoja Local Government Council in Kogi State has announced the immediate ban on all illegal revenue collection activities on highways, particularly around Nataco-Okumi-Banda and Felele areas.on Abuja road.
In a statement by the Chairman, Abdullah Adamu, it was stated that the decision aims to enhance the free movement of people and goods, and to end the extortion and harassment of motorists and other road users.
While residents and travellers are advised to report incidents to the authorities, a task force has been constituted to go around and enforce compliance.

He warned those behind the nefarious acts to immediately comply and dismantle all blockages on the road.
He added that failure to comply will attract severe sanctions.
