Iliya Adamu, 34, killed himself after being charged with stealing N40,000 from his brother at a village in Girei, in the Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
According to eyewitnesses, Adamu’s body was discovered hanging from a tree in a neighboring bush in the neighborhood.
After his unnamed brother allegedly accused him of stealing the N40,000 held in a family safe, the man is claimed to have killed himself because he was unable to take being ridiculed and labelled a thief.

His relatives and neighbors began looking for him in the neighborhood after he committed the murder but were unable to find him.
Two days after he vanished, they allegedly discovered his lifeless body in the bush.
Additionally, according to community sources, an insecticide container was discovered underneath the tree where his body was discovered.
When contacted, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state police public relations officer, verified the occurrence and stated, “The command is investigating the suicide.”
