Man arrested with stolen items after breaking and entering in Benin City

An alleged burglar has been arrested by policemen in Edo State on suspicion of breaking and entering.

Destiny Orji, 27, was arrested on 14 May 2022 around 14:30hrs by the Operatives of the Anti-kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the Edo State Police command.

Destiny was arrested after a resident of Ogheghe Community in Ikpoba Okha LGA, Benin City, complained to the police.

The resident said that when he woke up from sleep, he observed that his HP laptop valued at N200,000, iPhone 11 valued at N500,000, iPhone 12 valued at N650,000, and Apple wristwatch worth N200,000 were all carted away from his house.

The alleged burglar had also carjacked his Toyota Camry 2008 model with reg. No BEN 660 NQ.

Detectives launched an investigation and tracked the alleged perpetrator, Destiny, to his hideout at Dawson Road by Forestry Junction in Benin City.

Police said two iPhones and the Toyota Camry car belonging to the unnamed complainant were recovered.

The Suspect is cooperating with the police as the further investigation continues with a frantic effort to arrest his gang members.

The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command CP ABUTU YARO, while commending the prompt response of the police team, also used the opportunity to assure residents of Edo State that the Command under his watch will have no hiding place for Criminal elements and their conspirators in the state.
