Man beheads his one-year-old son for rituals

Police have detained a 33-year-old man named Gabriel Volts for reportedly killing his son for ritual purposes.

According to reports, Gabriel allegedly stole his son from his wife before taking him to the Etinabobo forest in the Edo state, where he hacked off the boy's head with a hand saw and buried the body.

The child's mother reported the matter to the police after the youngster went missing and she learned the husband had lied to her about sending him to his sister, according to DSP Bright Edafe, a spokesperson for the Delta state police command, who confirmed the arrest.

“Delta State Police Command has arrested one Gabriel Volts age 33years who allegedly beheaded his son for ritual. Suspect used a hand saw to cut off the head of his one year and eight months old son at Etinabobo bush in Edo state for ritual purpose and buried him by the palm tree.

The suspected was arrested after the child went missing, and the suspect lied to the wife that the son is with his sister in Warri, which turned out to be false, this prompted the wife to be suspicious, so she reported to the Police. Suspect has confessed to the alleged crime”. Edafe wrote on Facebook.
