A 27-Year-old man has been shot dead in Benin city by unknown gunmen.
The incident happened at Isiohor in Benin city, Edo state.
An investigation by Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe revealed that the 27 years old man identified as Adedigba Oluwatosin is into Printing Business and an alleged Internet fraudster popularly called “YAHOO-YAHOO”.
It was revealed that the deceased had planned to buy a car a few days before the sudden assassination.
The further report then revealed that the deceased and some of his friends had a financial deal that did not go down well with both parties.
The matter has been pending and was unresolved.
Standard Gazette learned that some yet to be identified persons called the deceased and requested to see him close to the gate of his house, but unknown to him; they were set to kill him.
However, the deceased, discussing with his siblings, excused them and went out to meet with his callers.
But a few minutes after he went out, the relations heard a gunshot which moved them to rush out to see what was happening.
They met some heavily armed men in a car.
Upon sighting them, the gunmen opened fire on the deceased again and waited for him to die before they left the scene.
The situation forced everyone in the area to escape for safety.
Upon a scroll of the deceased mobile phone, it was discovered that his caller was a female.
The family are of the opinion that the lady must have been used to call him out for the murder.
Contacted, the deceased’s father, Mr Asimiyu Adedigba told Standard Gazette that, “l have written a petition to the Edo state commissioner of police to direct his men to help investigate the incident and fish out the killers of my son,
“My son is a calm and easy-going person, and I am wondering why they killed him; l am sad now”.
However, the slain man’s family is now calling for justice as they said they don’t want their son to die in vain.
