Pamilerin Coker, a Nigerian man, has used the microblogging website Twitter to issue an “SOS” to anyone who will listen that HIV/AIDS is on the rise in Lagos State’s Lekki/Ajah or Island axis.

He tweeted, “This is an urgent call to those living around Lekki/Ajah or Island HIV/AIDS is spreading very fast; if you’ve had unprotected sex with your partner or a prostitute in the last six months, go for a test; immediately! Over 120 people have tested positive in just 9 days; I’m not capping

“This guy deliberately infected his girlfriend, and he’s determined not to tell her anything until she start seeing symptoms, I think some group of carriers are determined in spreading this shit, and the figures are really going up fast; protect yourself and don’t trust anyone!”

Lekki/Ajah and Lagos Island are particularly notorious for the high rate of prostitution and youthful exorbitance. Many have tagged the axis as Nigeria’s Sodom and Gomorrah.
