The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a father in Pipeline, Idimu, for allegedly killing his one-month-old kid.
According to reports, a guy named Benedict Anieze smashed his one-month-old baby’s skull on the ground, killing her instantly.
On Sunday, April 3, the event allegedly occurred at their home in Idimu, Lagos State.
Benedict was claimed to have been at home with his wife and infant when he went insane, carrying their child and slamming her to the ground, killing her.
Benedict supposedly lit his house on fire to hide his terrible deed before being apprehended.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the state command, confirmed the incident to reporters, saying that the police and neighbours tracked down the culprit to a site in the neighbourhood, where he was caught.
“There was no argument between him and his wife. He said he was possessed by evil spirits when he smashed the baby on the ground. He also set the house ablaze and ran away.
“The wife cried out, and after putting out the fire, they brought her to the station.
“The police, alongside neighbours, tracked him down to the place where he was arrested. The corpse has been deposited at the Yaba General Hospital’s morgue.” Hundeyin said.
