Military Aircraft Crashes Near Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja

A Military aircraft has crashed closed to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Multiple report indicates there were no survivors.

Nigeria Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika confirmed the incident in his message on Sunday afternoon via Twitter

“A military aircraft King Air 350 has just crashed short of our Abuja runway after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. It appears to be fatal. We should remain calm & wait for the outcome of investigation by the military, while we pray for the departed soul/souls if any,” the minister said.

The Minister’s post advised everyone to be calm and await the outcome of an investigation by the military.

Minister Sirika posted the at 12:39 pm on Sunday, 21 February.

The report says some prominent Nigerians were onboard the aircraft when it overshot the runway.
