An attempt by some armed men to bomb a mosque failed Friday night as the grenade thrown into the mosque failed to explode.
The aborted bombing was made at the mosque located on the Burutu expressway in Jos, Plateau state around 8.30 p.m.
The Special Task Force (STF) maintaining security in a statement signed by the Media Officer, Capt. Salisu Mustapha, on Saturday in Jos said the frustrated miscreants resorted to firing shots in the air as they escaped.
The STF said it had cordoned off the area and is closely monitoring the place. The statement added that investigations had commenced with the aim of apprehending the perpetrators.
It called on the people to report any suspicious objects, persons and activities in their areas to security agencies.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
