A Businesswoman has been kidnapped in Benin city Edo state by unknown gunmen.

The woman identified as Mrs Miracle Nkenchor was seized last night in her residence on Okosun street, Off Mother Mary Way on Upper Mission Extension in Benin city.

The hoodlums who were said to have laid an ambush in the area immediately swooped on Mrs Nkenchor while she was driving into the compound around 7 PM on Friday, Standard Gazette learned.

The armed men forced the mother of two out of her car and dragged her into their own car and zoomed off.

When Standard Gazette Crime Correspondent Festus Alenkhe visited the area, the children of the middle-aged woman were screaming and crying for help as their father was not at home when the incident happened.

In their words “my mummy was just driving into our compound and we opened the gate for her and the next thing we saw was some boys holding guns. They dragged my mummy into the car” as tears rolled down the cheek of the girl of 8 years old.

When this paper called the family house for further enquiry, it was revealed that the alleged kidnappers have called to demand Two Million Naira ransom to effect her release.

The possibility of getting the sum of Two million Naira was not in sight as at press time.

Some residents interviewed appealed to the kidnappers to consider the release of the woman unhurt.

The street is now completely deserted as the people have refused to come out over fear of another attack.
