…….Warns Buhari against archaic economy policy

A human rights activist and Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman has charged the labour leaders and leadership of the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) who were in forefront of the agitations for the betterment of the Nigeria People, particularly, the workers on the
proposed N56, 000 new minimum wages for the country workforce, to be sincere in their agitations for the upliftment of Nigeria masses, urging the Labour leaders in the country to wake up from their slumber in genuine defence of the workers rather than the pursuance of their selfish interest that has been their culture in recent
past.

He strongly condemned the archaic type of economy policy of President Muhammadu Buhari which made life unbearable for the poor masses of the country, insisted that Buhari has totally failed the masses of the country that casted eight –five (85) percent votes for him during the March 28, 2015 Presidential election, adding that instead of Buhari to bring the needed change to mirage of problems ravaging the nation, Buhari had turned himself to global President that was looking for foreign help which masses were not bargained for during the last electioneering campaign exercise.

CHRSJ boss equally faulted Buhari’s economy policy which has increased the untold hardship of the masses than he met it, explaining that the Nigeria masses found it difficult to eat the three (3) square meals in a day as Rice which was regarded as staple food for the masses was now selling at the rate of N600 per Congo in the masses market.

He then strongly condemned President Buhari for encouraging the importation of grass for Cow of his Fulani kinsmen (Fulani Herdsmen) and banned the importation of rice for Nigeria people in order to bring untold hardship on them, describing the action of Buhari as inhuman, anti-masses, ungodly, unconstitutional, evil and crime
against humanity and God,.

Speaking with Labour Correspondents on Tuesday during the “Mass Symposium to Resist the New Electricity Tariff, Lingering Fuel Crises and Slave Wages” held at Labour Textile House, Agidingbi, Lagos, Comrade Sulaiman who frown at the way and manner in which most of the Labour leaders and leaders of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the country betrayed the trust of the people, especially the workers for selfish aggrandizement, referring to Osun State crisis where the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Jacobs Adekomi in collaborating with Mr. Wahaba were trading worker’s interest for selfish interest.

Rights Activist recalled the 2012 Fuel Subsidy protest which was later betrayed by then National President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), Mr. Abdul waheed Umar and Mr. Peter Esielle respectively with their Executive Council members, condemned Mr. Wahaba for joining Adekomi in trading the plight of Osun and other workers in the land at the wake of lingering salaries crisis ravaging the States of the Federation as a result of the criminal financial mismanagement of the State governors.

Sulaiman who is also double as the Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) advised Wahaba and Ajaero factions of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to close ranks and settled the ongoing rift in the labour movement of the country in order to pave way for them to have common front in their agitations
for the workers’ welfare, urging the NLC leaders to tender an unreserved apology to the Nigeria workers for misleading them in the recent past.

CHRSJ Chief insisted that the Labour leaders and leaders of the Civil Society Organizations in the country have betrayed the trust of the nations’ masses which made the present administration of Muhammadu Buhari to be trampling upon the fundamental and economic rights of the Nigeria people, insisting that it was because of their lack of focus and coordination to put the current Buhari led-Federal Government on its toes as they did during the last administration of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, adding that the current development encouraged the economic baptism of fire being face by the Nigeria masses from the economy austerity of Buhari’s administration.
