The Registrar of political parties Ann Nderitu has announced the official dissolution of the National Super Alliance, the opposition coalition.
NASA was formed by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of the ODM party, Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper, and Isaac Ruto (Chama Cha Mashinani) heading to the 2017 polls.
Ford-Kenya, ANC, Wiper, and Chama Cha Mashinani had written to Nderitu informing her of their withdrawal from the outfit.
ANC, Wiper, and Ford-Kenya accused Odinga’s ODM of betrayal. The three emerged and formed the One Kenya Alliance.
ODM also announced its exit from the coalition but is yet to submit its resolution to the Registrar.
The outfit had stated in its constitution that the coalition shall stand dissolved where any of the members decide to leave.
“This Office shall, in line with Regulation 22 (2) of the Political Parties (Registration) Regulations, 2019, publish a notice of the dissolution in two newspapers,” said Nderitu©Standard Gazette, 2021.
