Over one point eight billion naira worth of illicit drugs have been seized and removed from the streets of Edo State, by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
Edo state commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, reported the figure during a press briefing, presenting the command’s first-quarter operational scorecard of 2026.
Speaking to Journalists, NDLEA Edo state commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, disclosed that one hundred and four suspected drug traffickers were arrested in the first quarter of 2026.
“The arrests, involving seventy-one males and thirty-three females, led to the recovery of more than eighteen thousand kilograms of narcotics, including cannabis, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and codeine syrup”
On justice dispensation of convicted suspects and rehabilitation of drug-dependent clients, State Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, says everything is being put in shape to dismantle the criminal.
