New Assistant Inspector-General Of Police, Zone 5 Police Command Deploys To Benin

The Inspector-General of Police IGP Alkali Baba has approved the immediate deployment of a new Assistant Inspector- General of Police for Zone 5 police headquarters, which comprises Delta and Edo State Police Commands.

He is AIG Isaac Akinmoyede, psc, FDC, and he assumed duty on 19th April 2021.

AIG Isaac Akinmoyede enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 15th March 1988 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (Cadet ASP) and has served in many parts of Nigeria, which include Lagos, Imo, Force CID, Abuja, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Enugu, Maritime Command Headquarters, Lagos, Plateau, Osun and FCT Command Abuja. The AIG worked on other areas: Zone 14, Makurdi, Zone 2, Lagos, Zone 6, Calabar and Zone 17, Akure.

AIG Isaac Akinmoyede also served as Commissioner of Police, Force Animal Branch, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Plateau State Command, Jos. He was the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Police Command until his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector- General of Police the year 2020.

AIG Isaac O. Akinmoyede was the immediate past AIG in charge of Zone 17 Command Ondo and Ekiti States before his redeployment as AIG Zone 5 Command, Benin city.

A statement signed by the Zone 5 Police Public Relations officer DSP Tijani Momoh and obtained by standard crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe said the AIG had undergone some professional courses both home and abroad.

They include the Management workshop course at Police Staff College, Jos; Civilian Police in Peacekeeping operations, at Tashie, Ghana; Information Technology In Law Enforcement, at New Delhi, India; Intermediate, Senior Command and the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner of Police CID courses all at the Police Staff College, Jos.

Other courses attended by the AIG includes the Professional Managers’ course organized by the Nigeria Institute of Management and the Higher Defense Course at the National Defence College, Abuja, where he was awarded the *fellow of the defence college (FDC).

The AIG took over from AIG Shola David who has since retired from from the force.
