The Nigerian paedophile governor, Senator Ahmad Yerima, said during an interview with a journalist that his 14-year-old Egyptian wife is now doing her master’s degree.
The news of Yerima marrying the 14-year-old girl from Egypt in 2010 drew reactions across the globe, including local human rights groups, leading to a senate probe – as a sitting governor at the time.
The governor, who appeared on Channels Television Politics Today, said his Egyptian bride has grown and currently doing her master’s degree.

At the time, the news claimed the girl was 13 years old, but during the interview with Channels Television, Yerima claimed the girl was around 14 to 15 years old without disclosing the girl’s actual age at the time of the marriage.
Yerima also condemned the Child Rights Act (2003), and the Violence Against Person Prohibition Act (2015), saying that act passed at the National Assembly must be domesticated by the assembly.
“And once they have not done that, it’s no longer a law,” he added.
The former governor alleged that former President Olusegun Obasanjo “tried to smuggle the Child Rights Act”.
“He passed it at the National Assembly through some manipulations but I don’t think any state in the North domesticated it and passed it,” Yerima said.
When asked if children deserve the right to Education and other freedom as stipulated in the Child Rights Act, Yerima argued that marriage was not an end to Education.
When asked if his child’s wife was educated, the former governor disclosed, “She’s doing her master’s degree now.”
He also said that the daughter he gave away at the age of 16 was “doing her PhD in London.”
During the 2010 report, Yerima was accused of paying 100,000 for his Egyptian dowry. During the interview, the former governor also disclosed that the 100,000 was the total summation of the entire cost of the wedding, adding, “it’s not dowry.”
“Provision of the house, provision of dowry, the dresses that she has to wear, everything [in] total,” he said. “At that time, it was just N15 million.”
“Whatever you have to do in marriage is clearly stipulated under the Sharia Law. You have to provide for a house for the girl, if you’re marrying her, like, from the condition the Egyptian government’s law provides,” he said.
