Nigerian police Force have rescued three traditional worshippers earlier abducted in Edo State.
Ugo Divisional Headquarters in Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State received a distress call on Monday 25 July 2022 that some suspected kidnappers accosted and forced three persons into the forest.
The victims, whose identities are unknown at the time of this report were abducted on their way to a river for a traditional cleansing along the Benin-Abraka road.
Upon receipt, officers were mobilized to the scene and tracked and traced the hoodlums.
The police said a gunshot exchange forced the suspected kidnappers to abandon their victis and flee into the bush.
Standard Gazette is aware that the victims have been reunited with their families as the police continue to comb the forest for the fleeing culprits.
The Edo state commissioner of police CP Abutu Yaro assured that the fleeing suspects would be arrested soon.
