Following the suspension of sixty-seven enigies in Edo South Senatorial District, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, has convened a meeting with Odionwere and elders from the villages as a way of brainstorming with them on how to carry out the functions of the suspended enigies
The meeting was shockingly graced by Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, palace chiefs, and Okaigeles.
Speaking The Oba of Benin reaffirmed the ban on community development associations and appreciated those who complied with the order.
He also unveiled plans to inaugurate a committee of Okaos to mediate between the palace and villages, starting with Ologbo, Ehor, and Ulegun in the first batch.
His Majesty, Oba Ewuare the Second assured Odionwere of the palace’s unwavering support to drive rapid development.
Participants described the meeting as a positive step forward.
In addition, the Oba approved the immediate construction of a community gathering hall in the Ohovbe community to replace the one ceded to the palace of a suspended Enogie, restoring access to fellowship.
